Jetlite

An airline that was among the most favorite low cost flying options in India, JetLite as a brand has merged with the operations of the other low cost operation of Jet Airways named Jet Airways Konnect and together, the entity is now known as JetKonnect. Even so, there are many travelers who still search for the airline not only at airports and in the skies, but also while checking out for flying options.
 
Well these passengers can find comfort in the fact that the airline may not be in the skies as JetLite anymore but the operation it has merged with is also a sister company, thus not really changing much about the airline, except of course the branding! Actually, even before JetLite came to be known as JetKonnect, it was also known as Sahara Airlines and then Air Sahara. But that was when the airline was under the management of the Sahara Pariwar Group.

When the airline was with the Sahara Pariwar Group it began operations in the year 1993 and was among the first low cost operations to take to the skies in India after Air Deccan. The airline was an immediate hot with Indian travelers who finally had a low cost option to fly. Sahara Airlines was subsequently rebranded as Air Sahara and eventually changed hands with Jet Airways taking over the brand. But it was the JetLite name that gave it prominence to a great extent, a name that has again been changed to JetKonnect!
